Curriculum

Our curriculum is based around the National Curriculum, but we very much consider this to be an initial framework on which we can extend and build a dynamic and diverse programme of study. This allows our children to explore areas of interest, to indulge and extend any areas of expertise and allows our teachers to identify and maximise areas of potential for each individual child. It ensures that we give our pupils a diverse, stimulating, challenging and enjoyable environment in which to learn, where each child’s individual learning needs are understood and each child is developed by considering their own needs.

A commitment to delivering a broad and balanced curriculum allows for a strong emphasis on Mathematics and English and provides opportunities  for enriching studies  in Science, History, Geography, Art, RE, PSHCE, DT, Music, Modern Foreign Languages, Latin, Drama, PE, Games and Computing. Children are given opportunities to use ICT to support  their understanding through our Interactive Whiteboards, Computer Suite, classroom computers and class sets of iPads and chrome books.

We pride ourselves on developing a positive attitude to learning, where social and emotional development complements the strong emphasis placed on developing academic skills.
