Greenbank Preparatory Parents Association (GBPA)
What we do
We raise thousands of pounds which have been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and the school facilities in general.
We put on a whole host of events throughout the year which are enjoyed by both children and parents and enable us to raise this money. These events include family bingo, film nights, school ball, preloved uniform sales and of course, school Christmas & Summer Fairs!
From the funds raised in the previous year we have been able to buy iPads, Chrome books, outdoor equipment amongst many other things. The focus for next year is IT, in particular a refurbishment of the Orsborn Room with green screen and stand, video recorders, video editing software and new computers.
Who we are?
All parents with children at Greenbank are automatically members of the Parents’ Association. A number of parents volunteer to be more active committee members and event helpers.
We meet monthly during term time. Dates of the meetings are advertised on the PA noticeboard and in the school newsletter. Meetings are informal and friendly. Come along to our next meeting – you will be made to feel welcome!

We are always grateful for any support that parents can give to GBPA – this can be by being a committee member, helping out at events, attending events with family and friends or by joining the 200 Club!
When we meet: Committee
The best time and day of committee meetings are surveyed at the start of each school year to ensure it suits as many parents / guardians as possible. It is usually held on the first Tuesday of the month (excluding holiday periods) at 7:30pm on the school site. All meetings are advertised in the newsletter and minutes.
All GBPA committee members are given an opportunity to contribute to the agenda and discussion. The minutes are emailed to all parents / guardians in the nursery and school within a few days of the meeting.
Any parent / guardian wishing to attend a GBPA meeting will be most welcome.
When we meet: Events
This year we have the following events coming up:
Friday 18 November – Family Quiz/Disco 6:30 – 7:45
Children are welcome to come in fancy dress. Curry for the adults and hot dogs for the kids.
Saturday 26 November – Christmas Fair
We have great stalls such as Clarins, Yves Saint Laurent and Cheshire Candles to name but a few. There will also be plenty of stalls for the children to enjoy and of course there will be a special visit from Father Christmas! We will have a café serving hot and cold snacks.
Saturday 3 December – Dinner Dance
Being held at the Deanwater Hotel. The menu and wine list are available at the school office, You are able to pre order your wine for the table this year. Please purchase tickets and bring along friends and family.
Friday 9 December – Christmas Film Night
The PA will be putting on a Christmas film for all the children to enjoy straight after school. The tickets will include a drink and a bag of sweets or popcorn.

Join the 200 Club
Note 2: 200 Club = voluntary school lottery, parents pay £1 per number, which goes into a monthly draw (winnings £25 on a normal month, £100 at summer / Christmas fair). Forms available from the school office.
Please try to consider the level of support you can offer with assurance there is an appreciation that the level of support will almost certainly change for us all over the years. You can safely volunteer in any capacity without angst that you will have a new job for life, but with satisfaction that you are helping out!
